WSHIP Board Member Announcements:
Barbara R. Wood, Executive Director, Network Services and Care Management, Kaiser Permanente Washington, has been elected to the Board of Directors replacing Scott Plack who resigned his position on August 14, 2017.

Sheela Tallman, Sr. Alaska Legislative Affairs Executive and Sr. Manager of Legislative Policy, Premera Blue Cross, and WSHIP Board member representing Health Care Service Contractors has been elected to the Officer position of Treasurer for the term ending May 31, 2017.

Governor Inslee Signs Bill to Delay Discontinuation of WSHIP Non-Medicare Plans
On April 25, 2017, Governor Inslee signed Second Substitute House Bill 1338 which delays the scheduled 2017 discontinuation of WSHIP’s Non-Medicare coverage until December 31, 2022. Click Here for a copy of the bill.

WSHIP’s Non-Medicare Plans Are Closed to New Enrollment
Effective January 1, 2014, WSHIP’s non-Medicare plans are only available to individuals enrolled in WSHIP prior to December 31, 2013 and individuals residing in a county where an individual plan is not offered.  Currently, individual coverage is offered in all counties. 

WSHIP’s Medicare-eligible Plan (Basic) is Open to New Enrollment
There are no changes to eligibility requirements for WSHIP’s Medicare-eligible plan (Basic).  This plan remains open to new enrollment. Click Here for more information.
