Legislature Passes Bill to Delay Discontinuation of WSHIP Non-Medicare Plans
The legislature has passed Second Substitute House Bill 1338 which delays the scheduled 2017 discontinuation of WSHIP’s Non-Medicare coverage until December 31, 2022. Click Here for a copy of the bill.

Comment Period Regarding WSHIP Standard Plans
The WSHIP Board is evaluating its plan offerings for 2018 and considering discontinuing its indemnity (fee-for-service) plan called the Standard Plan. WSHIP enrollees currently in the Standard Plan would be offered enrollment in WSHIP’s PPO Plan in the event the Standard Plan is discontinued. If you would like to provide comments about this potential change, please send your comments via email to or mail them to WSHIP, PO Box 1090, Great Bend, KS 67530 by May 8, 2017.

WSHIP’s Non-Medicare Plans Are Closed to New Enrollment
Effective January 1, 2014, WSHIP’s non-Medicare plans are only available to individuals enrolled in WSHIP prior to December 31, 2013 and individuals residing in a county where an individual plan is not offered.  Currently, individual coverage is offered in all counties. 

WSHIP’s Medicare-eligible Plan (Basic) is Open to New Enrollment
There are no changes to eligibility requirements for WSHIP’s Medicare-eligible plan (Basic).  This plan remains open to new enrollment. Click Here for more information.
